HWJ Engineering & Surveying, PLLC (d/b/a Hawkins Webb Jaeger) is a multi-disciplined professional services firm that has been providing Architectural, Engineering and Land Survey services on Long Island since 1872.

Hawkins Webb Jaeger has become known for its diverse knowledge and unique cross discipline approach to Architecture, Site Development and Survey. HWJ has built a reputation within the Long Island community not only as a single point “hands on” design firm, but as an innovator of common sense solutions to unique projects demonstrating skill, accountability, ingenuity, sustainability and novelty in design.

HWJ maintains a staff of 12 to provide over 80 years of combined experience in residential, multi-residential, commercial and public funded projects ranging from New York State Parks, Suffolk County Parks, fire and emergency facilities, as well as hospitality, religious and educational institutions.

Services we have provided: Due Diligence Reports, Code Review, Zoning studies, ADA Compliance Studies, Historic Preservation Studies, Budget Development and Analysis, Project & Program Management, Value Engineering, Bid & Contractor Qualification Administration, Residential Construction and Technical Services. Our Staff regularly represents our Municipal, Institutional and Private Clients before various local and regional Governmental Boards and Agencies.

 

MATTHEW CRANE

PLS - Lead Surveyor, Managing Partner

Matthew Crane oversees the scheduling and review of field crews, surveyors, civil engineers and drafters in addition to supervision of the day to day operations of the firm. This includes reviewing of subdivisions, site plans, as-built, title and ALTA surveys.

Matthew Schick

Senior Survey Project Manager

Matthew Schick is a registered Professional Land Surveyor with nearly 20 years of experience. His responsibilities include Client contact, scheduling work flow, and cross discipline coordination. He is a key Quality Control overseer for all HWJ surveying services

Michael J. Russo is an Alum of New York Institute of Technology’s Bachelor of Architecture program. He is a detail-oriented project manager amassed with 23 years of working design and construction management experience.

Peter Braverman is an Alum of Roger Williams University’s Bachelor of Architecture program. His more than 18 years of working experience includes 10 years of being an associate in a mid-size award winning and highly published architectural firm.

E. Lee Nyburg

Project Manager

Lee Nyburg is an Alum of New York Institute of Technology’s Bachelor of Architecture program. His more than 25 years of working experience includes everything from design of high end residential on projects from Manhattan to London as well as on-site construction administration of up to a 160,000sf multiple-residence, starting with 9 years of Associate Partnership in a small “Archi” award winning and published firm right out of school.

Scott Risinger is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of New York with over 16 years of diversified experience. Throughout his career, he has been involved in civil engineering site planning, residential design and construction, subdivisions, heavy highway construction and surveying.
